TOO LONG!

HOW long does it take for James Michel to repair a bridge?? This is the question that many people, especially motorists living in the South of Mahe, are asking. It is taking the Land Transport Agency a very long time to start rebuilding the small bridge, which fell away in the river two weeks ago at Anse Aux Pins. This situation is causing a lot of harm to the local economy and other activities nationally. The average journey from and to Victoria is being prolonged by at least half an hour. This is reducing productivity considerably at the work place and around homes.

It must be said that it didn't take the LTA long to put up the temporary one lane bridge. However, work to rebuild the bridge to allow traffic to flow freely across it, unimpeded, is taking a very long time. On top of that the flow of traffic in the area is not being managed properly; on the outset a pair of traffic lights were installed to manage traffic, it lasted less than twenty-four hours before it broke down and left to stand by the road side unrepaired. The traffic wardens are doing their best in the blazing sun to allow for the traffic to flow in an orderly manner. However, after 6pm they disappear and are not replaced causing the situation to descend into chaos without any form of traffic management; typical of how this country is being run under Parti Lepep. In fact this country is not being run, it is running itself...
